A father and his 11-year-old daughter were found dead Sunday morning after relatives were alerted that something may have happened in a residence, police said Sunday.

The mother of the child and other relatives found the bodies at the home in the 3600 block of Mountcastle Drive in east Fort Worth.

The father was identified as Jorge Flores, 37, of Fort Worth, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website reported Sunday. His daughter was Angela Flores, 11.

Their bodies were found in a bedroom, according to the website. A ruling on their deaths is pending.

Police are not searching for any suspects.

The mother and father recently separated, and the girl was visiting her father for the weekend, police Sgt. Steve Enright said Sunday in an email.

Officers responded to a shooting call about 4:30 a.m. Sunday on Mountcastle Drive after receiving calls from relatives of the girl.

When officers arrived, several people outside the home told police that they had found the bodies inside.

“The mother received information from relatives that something may have happened at the residence,” Enright said. “The mother and other relatives came to the residence.”

Homicide detectives are investigating.

The medical examiner’s office will determine a cause of death.
