Buildings nationwide lit up gold as beacons of hope for kids
Buildings across the nation were lighted yellow and gold Tuesday night as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
In Fort Worth, Cook Children’s Medical Center, Pier 1 Imports Building and Sundance Square were illuminated in the bright colors.
Cook Children’s also kicked off its “Race to #erasekidcancer,” a virtual race and fundraiser.
More than 13,500 children are diagnosed with cancer each year and more children die of cancer than any other disease, according to a fact sheet on Cook Children’s website.
