A man who initially was believed to have fallen to his death at the Hyatt Regency DFW Tuesday night in fact jumped, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office ruled Wednesday.

Eugene Dickey, 65, of Coppell, was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, the medical examiner’s office reported. His death was caused by “multiple blunt force injuries due to jump from height,” the ME reported. The death was ruled a suicide.

Dickey was registered at the hotel, DFW Airport spokesman David Magaña said in a news release Wednesday. Airport police were called to the hotel at 8:20 p.m. after he was found on an exterior ledge below his ninth floor room. — Monica S. Nagy
