Fort Worth Animal Care and Control is offering free spay and neuter and microchipping services throughout the city.

The mobile “Chip & Snip” program begins on July 18. Pet owners can make appointments online, and all procedures will be performed by a licensed veterinarian, according to a press release.

Fort Worth Animal Care and Control has performed over 5,000 spay and neuter surgeries since the beginning of 2026, according to the city. The new mobile veterinary clinic is meant to “build on that momentum” and bring those animal services into neighborhoods.

“The Chip & Snip trailer lets us bring these services directly into neighborhoods where the need is the greatest,” said Fort Worth Animal Care and Control Assistant Director Chris McAllister. “It’s about partnering with residents right where they live to make responsible pet care easy and accessible.”
