Body found in west Fort Worth pond Tuesday afternoon, police say

Fort Worth police are investigating after a body was found in a pond in west Fort Worth Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Fort Worth police officers and firefighters responded to a report of a body in a small pond near Calmont Avenue and Lackland Road around noon, police said. First responders located the body in the water.

Police said there were no signs of trauma or foul play and homicide detectives are investigating.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased and release the cause and manner of the death after an autopsy.
