More than 3,000 homes may be coming to far west Fort Worth.

On June 8, the Reilly Brothers Property Company filed a preliminary platting application with the city of Fort Worth for a 238.53-acre housing development at the southeast corner of Farmer Road and Old Weatherford Road, north of Interstate 20.

According to the platting paperwork, the development — called "Aledo 240" — will include 650 single-family homes, 1,500 multifamily units and 1,000 townhomes.

The single-family homes will be on 18.70 acres, with the multifamily units planned for 43.09 acres and the townhomes planned for 23.45 acres. The plat shows 31.21 acres of mixed-use space and 86.84 acres of open space throughout the development.

The development is across Interstate 20 from the planned Dean Ranch development, which is at the center of a lawsuit filed by the cities of Aledo and Fort Worth against the city of Willow Park, alleging that Willow Park illegally annexed land for a development.

Reilly Brothers Property Company did not respond to requests for comment.
