The Evans and Rosedale Urban Village project in Fort Worth is inching closer to a potential summer groundbreaking.

In late May, Engberg Anderson Architects applied for a flurry of construction permits with the city of Fort Worth for the $63 million, six-acre affordable housing development in Fort Worth’s Historic Southside neighborhood.

Those permits include the construction of several of the village’s apartment buildings, a mixed-use retail building, and the village’s leasing and fitness center.

“The City of Fort Worth and Royal Capital are pleased to share continued momentum on the Evans & Rosedale project,” said Kevin Newell, CEO of the Milwaukee-based developer Royal Capital, LLC in a written statement. “The collective team is actively advancing design and construction documents through the City’s plan review and permitting process, while working in lockstep across the various financing approvals required for closing.”

Royal Capital has also filed paperwork with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for two buildings included in the development, at 909 Evans Ave. and 901 Evans Ave. Those projects have a listed start date of Nov. 1.

The building at 909 Evans Ave. is a $1.2 million project listed as a multi-unit residential building with six townhouse style units.

The building at 901 Evans Ave. is a $1.6 million project listed as a multi-unit residential building with seven flat style units.

Both of those projects list a construction start date of Nov. 1.
