TEXRail train in crash with vehicle between Fort Worth North Side, Mercantile stations

Fort Worth police are investigating a crash involving a TEXRail train and a vehicle Wednesday between the North Side and Mercantile Center stations.

Officers began responding to the crash about 11 a.m. in the 3800 block of North Sylvania Avenue, near East Long Avenue, police said in a statement. Officers are working at the scene and no fatalities have been reported at this time.

Trinity Metro said in an email about 1 p.m. that the rail infrastructure was damaged in the crash and repairs are expected to take six or more hours to complete.

To help TEXRail customers continue their trips during this service disruption, Trinity Metro said it has implemented a bus bridge to transport passengers between North Side Station and Mercantile Center Station while crews work as safely and as quickly as possible to restore normal service.

Customers can monitor the latest service updates and alerts at RideTrinityMetro.org, through the GoPass app, subscriber email alerts and Trinity Metro’s X account.

A train, TEXR928, was severely delayed; TEXR931 ended service at Mercantile Station; and TEXR939 will not provide service from Terminal B Station to Mercantile Station due to the crash, Trinity Metro said in email alerts.
