Woman killed in six-vehicle crash on Interstate 35W in Fort Worth identified

A 28-year-old woman has been identified as the motorcyclist who died in a six-vehicle wreck on Interstate 35W in Fort Worth involving a suspected intoxicated driver, according to Tarrant County records.

Baylee Suzanne Lynn Lucia died on April 12 from blunt force injuries after the multi-vehicle crash, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website.

Lucia was a “fierce but loving and kind young soul,” her family wrote in an online obituary.

“Baylee will forever be remembered for her faith, the unfiltered love she shared and the strength she showed in her short but impactful life to all that knew her and loved her,” the post read.

A graveside service in honor of Baylee’s life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Fairview Cemetery in Millsap, Texas.

Fatal six-vehicle crash on I-35W

Fort Worth police officers responded to the crash about 10:45 p.m. in the freeway’s south lanes between East Felix Street and Interstate 20, police have said.

Lucia was pronounced dead at the scene, and multiple people were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A driver, 28-year-old Hassan Omar, was arrested April 13 on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in connection with the crash, according to a police report.
