A 6-week-old kitten was given a new lease on life after a Good Samaritan rescued him from a bucket of industrial glue.

Elmer was severely dehydrated and in urgent need of medical care when he arrived at the Humane Society of North Texas, the nonprofit said in a news release Friday. He was covered from head to tail with thick adhesive and unable to eat or drink.

Staff spent several hours removing the glue with canola oil. Elmer is now recovering in a foster home and slowly regaining his strength.

Elmer, a 6-week-old kitten who was rescued from a bucket of industrial glue, is already showing evidence of “a sweet and affectionate personality,” Humane Society of North Texas staff said Friday, April 10.

“While he still has additional healing ahead, his progress is encouraging, and he is already showing signs of a sweet and affectionate personality,” HSNT staff said in the release.
