Developers of a proposed $2.1 billion data center in far north Fort Worth has filed paperwork to begin construction.

The five-building campus will be built on 107 acres near North Saginaw Boulevard and Hicks Field Road, south of an upcoming 850-acre housing development and several other developments along the Bonds Ranch corridor.

The project is being developed by ACS Group, an infrastructure company based in Spain that has helped build several other properties, including the automated people mover at the Los Angeles International Airport and the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. A subsidiary for the company, a construction company called Turner, assisted with improvements to Amon G. Carter Stadium at TCU.

On Nov. 21, ACS Group submitted an application for a preliminary grading permit for the development, according to city records.

The project is subject to several more reviews — but after the city approves the permit, the company can begin construction on its timeline.

In April, the Fort Worth City Council approved an economic incentives package with a 10-year tax abatement for ACS. The center is expected to produce 37 fulltime jobs.

ACS Group could not be reached for comment.
