Gunman opens fire in Fort Worth shopping center, one wounded


A man was seriously wounded late Sunday when a gunman opened fire at a small strip shopping center on Horne Street, Fort Worth police said.
A man was seriously wounded late Sunday when a gunman opened fire at a small strip shopping center on Horne Street, Fort Worth police said.

A gunman stepped out of a vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping center in west Fort Worth and fired multiple shots late Sunday, seriously injuring one man, police said.

The victim, who was standing near a door at the shopping center, was hit by the gunfire, police said. He was in serious condition on Monday, police said.

No one had been arrested as of Monday morning.

The shooting call came into police about 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 4600 block of Horne Street.

According to preliminary police reports, the gunman and possibly other suspects drove into the parking lot of the small strip shopping center and parked their vehicle.

The gunman got out of the vehicle, walked to one of the doors at the shopping center and fired several shots, police said.
