A premium hotel is planned for the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The 3.5-acre plot at 400 E. Exchange Ave. was bought by White Lodging, an Indiana-based hospitality company. This will be the company’s first project in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since the late 1990s.

“The Stockyards represent a unique intersection of history and opportunity,” said Conner White, vice chair and chief investment officer at White Lodging. “We are thrilled to be part of shaping its next chapter with additional economic development and investment. While our plans are still taking shape, there is so much potential in the site. Our vision is to create a place that celebrates the character of the district while introducing new experiences for visitors and locals alike.”

They have developed over 150 properties with names like Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott ranging from small luxury hotels to large convention hotels. Their purview stretches across the United States in cities like Austin, Nashville and Chicago.

In addition to the hotel, the group will include a restaurant in the development, and possibly other “mixed-use destination amenities,” according to White Lodging Spokesperson Mike Banas. It will be located at 400 East Exchange Avenue.

Banas did not have details about the development as the plan is in early stages.
