Man drowns in backyard pool in far north Fort Worth

Police are investigating the apparent drowning of a 46-year-old man in far north Fort Worth on Saturday morning.

The man, identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office as Phillip Grantham, was found unresponsive at the bottom of the backyard swimming pool at his home at 5204 Glen Springs Trail, near Park Glen Elementary School, authorities said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives are investigating, as is standard procedure. The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.
