At least five vehicles involved in fatal crash on Interstate 30 in Fort Worth

A passenger died Monday in one of at least five vehicles that crashed in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near U.S. 287 in Fort Worth, police said.

The vehicles, including the Honda Accord in which passenger who died was an occupant, crashed on the freeway about 6:30 a.m.

Westbound lanes of I-30 were shut down as detectives investigated the crash. Traffic backed up to Woodhaven Boulevard, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. The lanes reopened about 10:20 a.m., TxDOT said.

No other major injuries were reported, a Fort Worth Police Department spokesperson said.

The police spokesperson on Thursday said no other information about the crash was available.

The passenger, whose name and age has not been released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, was pronounced dead at the scene.
