A woman was killed and two drivers were arrested after a car crashed into a bus stop and a building in east Fort Worth on Saturday afternoon, Fort Worth police said.

Officers responded to the 5500 block of East Lancaster Avenue about 3 p.m. Saturday, police said. Upon arrival, officers found one victim who was pronounced dead at the scene, and a vehicle inside a convenience store.

Traffic investigators determined that two vehicles had been speeding westbound when one driver lost control, according to a statement. That driver hit the bus stop and slammed into the store, police said.

Three people near the bus stop were hit; one was killed and the other two had minor injuries, according to police.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman who died as 68-year-old Inez Blair Caldwell.

Photos of the scene posted to social media Saturday evening show a black pickup truck crashed through the front glass window of a Conoco convenience store at 5549 E. Lancaster Ave. Also seen in the photos is what appears to be a collapsed bus stop structure.

Police arrested both drivers, who each face charges of collision involving death, according to online jail records. The drivers were identified as 24-year-old Detavius Hayes and 22-year-old Deovion Alexander.

Both suspects were booked into the Tarrant County Jail with bond set at $75,000.

Detectives continue to investigate the crash, officials said.
