Pickleball and badminton complex to open in Fort Worth. ‘Let’s celebrate y’all!’

A new badminton and pickleball facility is planned for a Fort Worth neighborhood close to downtown.

The Fort Worth Badminton Club is building the facility on five acres at 3001 Fisher Ave., which is in the Riverside neighborhood just east of the Trinity River.

The more than 26,000-square-foot building with indoor badminton is expected to open in January 2026. The Fort Worth City Council approved a zoning change for the property in April.

The Fort Worth Badminton Club currently meets at the Chisholm Trail Community Center in southwest Fort Worth.

“We are so excited and ask you to join us in promoting this sport in this great city. Let’s celebrate y’all!” the organization said in an Instagram post after purchasing the property.

Racket sports are gaining popularity in the region. Texas is home to the third-most pickleball facilities in the country.

Pickleball Kingdom is expected to open its largest Texas facility later this year at 5650 Kroger Drive in north Fort Worth. The company is also building a new facility at 5100 Haltom Road in Haltom City.

Chicken N Pickle, the venture by NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, franchise locations in Grapevine and Grand Prairie, and a new Allen location that opened in mid-May.

And in Burleson, the city is building a 55-acre community park with pickleball courts, a lake, softball fields, playground and a dedicated dog park.
