Man hit, killed by train while trying to rescue his dog in Fort Worth: police

A man who was trying to retrieve his dog died on Tuesday when he was hit by a train in south Fort Worth, police said.

The man and the dog, who was also struck and died, were accidentally hit about 6:30 p.m. near Kelton Street and Avington Way, a Fort Worth police spokesperson said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 31-year-old Avery Hill.
