A woman was shot in the back Sunday morning after an argument with her ex-boyfriend on Stuart Drive, Fort Worth police said. The woman survived, and police continued their search Monday for the ex-boyfriend.

A verbal argument resulted in a shooting Sunday morning that left a woman with two gunshot wounds in the back and police searching for her ex-boyfriend.

The woman, who sought help at a convenience store on East Berry Street, was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition Sunday. Her condition was not available Monday.

As of Monday morning, no one had been arrested.

Patrol officers responded to a shooting call shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sunday at RaceTrac, 390 E. Berry St. By the time officers arrived, the woman had been taken to the hospital.

Officers learned that the shooting occurred at a home in the 2700 block of Stuart Drive, a little over four blocks from the convenience store. The woman and her ex-boyfriend were at a party there and began to argue, police said.

The argument led to an altercation, and then the shooting, police said.

Police did not release the name of the woman or of the suspect.
