A speeding car crashed early Wednesday into a former bakery in northwest Fort Worth, police said.

The Dodge Challenger crashed about 3 a.m. into the building in the 4000 block of White Settlement Road in which a bakery and cafe, Pearl Snap Kolaches, operated until it permanently closed on Jan. 31.

The driver was traveling too fast for road conditions, lost control and crashed, a Fort Worth police spokesperson said.

The driver and a passenger, the car’s only occupants, were taken to a hospital. Their condition is unknown, the police spokesperson said.

A pilates studio and a dentist’s office also are located in the building.
