Dangerous cold weather to begin Tuesday night in Fort Worth; temps will be ‘bitterly cold’
Frigid weather is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth starting Tuesday night, the National Weather Service said.
Wind chills could reach as low as 10 degrees below zero in parts of the Metroplex, according to the weather service. The “bitterly cold” weather is expected to begin Tuesday night and will likely last through Thursday morning, the NWS said. The weather service has issued an extreme cold watch for much of North and Central Texas during that time.
On Monday, temperatures will be mild and get as warm as 56 degrees. During the day on Tuesday, there’s a 50% chance of showers, and the temperature is expected to fall to about 42 degrees by the evening, before it gets bitterly cold Tuesday night.
The forecast also includes a slight chance of rain and freezing rain on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service is reminding residents to stay indoors and check on elderly and other vulnerable neighbors, family and friends to make sure they’re OK.
