Six Fort Worth restaurants closed, rodent droppings found in latest health inspections

Six Fort Worth restaurants were closed and rodents and roaches found at others, according to a report from the city’s latest round of restaurant inspections.

The report contains data from Jan. 19 to Feb. 8 and 284 inspections.

Fort Worth’s inspections function on a demerit system: 0 demerits is considered a perfect score. Restaurants with over 30 demerits are required to fix the worst issues immediately and remedy the rest within 48 hours.

The Stockyards Hotel located at 109 East Exchange Ave. had 35 demerits and scored 13 on a follow-up inspection, according to the report.

Six establishments were closed due to serious health violations:

  1. Nancy’s Good Luck Drive In, 900 W Rosedale St, Fort Worth, Score: 24: Inadequate hot water
  2. Cleburne Food Mart, 3233 Cleburne Road, Fort Worth, Score: 22: No sanitizer available
  3. Autumn Leaves Cityview, 7100 Dutch Branch Road, Fort Worth, Score: 16 - Closed due to a wastewater backup
  4. Wendy’s #10016, 5900 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth, Score: 9 - Closed due to a wastewater backup
  5. 6333 Cafe, 6333 Camp Bowie Blvd. Suite 204, Fort Worth, Score: 8 - Hot water not at appropriate temperature
  6. Taco Bell #29189, 1913 W Berry St, Fort Worth,Score: 6 - Hot water heater being repaired at time of inspection, restaurant voluntarily closed

Inspectors observed an “extensive amount of mice droppings” in the restroom at the Mitchell Food Store, at 2921 Mitchell Blvd. in Fort Worth, according to the report.
