An abandoned vehicle near Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth prompted a police response Thursday afternoon, officials with the Westworth Village Police Department said.

Police were dispatched to Pumphrey Drive and Texas 183 at around 2 p.m., officials said. Officers located an unattended white Hummer in the middle of the road.

At that time, Westworth Village dispatchers received a second call stating that the vehicle was intended for the air station’s military police to clear, officials said.

Westworth Village police then secured the scene and established a perimeter and command post, according to a statement.

Multiple other agencies, including the Fort Worth police and fire departments and the base command, responded to the scene, officials said.

The FBI, NCIS, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were also notified, according to a statement.

The incident caused the base’s main gate to be secured and all traffic redirected until the vehicle was cleared, according to a post on the base’s Facebook page.

No incendiary devices were found, a suspect has been identified and roads have been reopened to normal traffic, officials said.
