Woman found shot on dead-end road in north Fort Worth

A woman is in critical condition after being found shot Monday morning on a dead-end road in north Fort Worth.

Homicide Sgt. Joe Loughman said truckers found the woman shortly after 7 a.m. on a dead-end road just west of the QuikTrip parking lot in the 3100 block of Golden Triangle Boulevard.

Loughman said it appears that the woman had been dumped at the location.

“It does not appear that she had been there too long,” Loughman said.

The woman was taken by helicopter ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital, where she remained hospitalized Monday afternoon.

Loughman said detectives were following leads but had not positively identified the woman as of 12:50 p.m.
