One man was shot and wounded at a block party in south Fort Worth on Tuesday, Dec. 31, police said.

Officers and firefighters responded to a shooting at 8:50 p.m. at the southbound service road of Interstate 35W near the intersection of East Risinger Road.

When officers arrived they located a man who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the upper right shoulder. The victim was accompanied by a witness who stated that both had attended a “block party” on Fox Run Drive, which is a small street that only extends two blocks, police said.

The shots were fired by an unknown person from an unknown direction, police said.

Police said both men then fled the area in a private vehicle to seek medical treatment.

Officers were unable to locate a crime scene or witnesses on Fox Run Drive who could confirm that a block party or shooting had occurred.

Police said there is no suspect in custody and the Gun Violence Unit will continue the investigation.
