Report reveals new information about death of 63-year-old on plane bound for DFW Airport
A report from airport police reveals new information about the Oct. 31 death of a 63-year-old woman aboard a commercial jet at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Mahasen Mohamed was traveling with her husband and son on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha, according to the report. She collapsed while the plane was en route to DFW Airport.
A medical doctor traveling on the same flight was notified of the emergency. He told officials that he found Mohamed at the back of the aircraft and performed CPR on her for about an hour, the report states.
Mohamed was pronounced dead shortly after 9:45 a.m., according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.
Officers from the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport Department of Public Safety met the aircraft at Terminal D, Gate 11 after receiving reports of a CPR in progress, the report states.
The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that Mohamed’s death was natural, and the primary cause was pulmonary thromboembolism.
Mohamed’s husband and son told officials that the 63-year-old had previously suffered from blood clots, according to the report. She had been seated on the plane for around 10 hours before attempting to get up.
Mohamed was a resident of Garland, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website.
