This Fort Worth haunted house was ranked No. 1 in the country by USA Today
The spookiest place on Earth ahead of Halloween is in Fort Worth.
USA Today compiles rankings based on expert opinion and reader’s votes. For their 2025 haunted house rankings, Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth landed the No. 1 spot.
“Located in a historic area of Fort Worth, Texas, known as “Hell’s Half Acre,” this 100-year-old abandoned meatpacking plant takes visitors on a 55-minute haunted experience with its twisting corridors and multiple stories of live actors and special effects,” says the USA Today report.
Cutting Edge has also been voted USA Today’s best haunted house in 2021 and 2023. They also claim to be the world’s largest haunted attraction.

What is Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth?
Located at 1701 E. Lancaster Ave., this region of Fort Worth, otherwise known as Hell’s Half Acre, offers the perfect opportunity to spook haunted house visitors.
“The meat packing equipment from the Old West is still in use, but now it is a two-story human processing area. Realistic-looking human mannequins are hoisted up to the second level and brought through the entire meat packing process until the conveyor system brings the butchered corpses back to the first level,” says Cutting Edge’s website.
The haunting experience is a whole 55 minutes. There are special effects as well as live actors circulating the scene.
They are open until Nov. 2. It is recommended that you buy tickets before attending. Ticket prices vary depending on the day you attend.
