2 Fort Worth hotels awarded Michelin Keys as ‘outstanding hotels’ in the US. Here’s why
A Fort Worth hotel has been identified as one of the best places to stay in America, according to a new Michelin Guide ranking.
Bowie House, Auberge Resorts Collection secured Michelin Key ratings, which recognize the most outstanding hotels in the United States.
The distinction is similar to the Michelin star system, which honors the best restaurants in the world.
Michelin announced its newest batch of exemplary lodgings on Sept. 12.
The list features 293 hotels from locations across the nation that are the “crème de la crème,” each excelling in design, architecture, service and personality, according to its website.
Michelin ranks hotels based on a three-key system.
One key means the hotel offers “a very special stay,” while two keys promise “an exceptional stay,” and three keys signify “an extraordinary stay.”
Which Fort Worth hotels received Michelin Guide rankings?
Bowie House, Auberge Resorts Collection
Location: 3700 Camp Bowie Boulevard, Fort Worth
Michelin rating: Two Key (an exceptional stay)
The luxury hotel in the city’s Cultural District rooms has 106 rooms starting at $579 per night.
“It just might be the most stylish building in Fort Worth, Texas; it’s surely the city’s most extraordinary luxury hotel,” Michelin wrote in its review. “You certainly can’t say it hasn’t been painstakingly localized, from cowhide armchairs in the lobby to the local artworks and upscale Texan cuisine.”
The first of its kind, set on Camp Bowie Boulevard in one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods, the hotel is “also a love letter to the community,” according to the hotel’s website.
Claiming beautiful views over the Cultural District or lush courtyard gardens, each of the resort’s 88 Studios, 12 Lofts and 6 Suites – several with open-air balconies, are attractions to high-end visitors.
Hotel Drover
Location: 200 Mule Alley Drive
Michelin rating: One Key (a very special stay)
Positioned in the Fort Worth Stockyards, the 200-room Hotel Drover is “unmistakably Texan but without crossing too far into kitsch, and sophisticated enough to balance out the broad rustic gestures,” Michelin wrote in its review.
The hotel features a swimming pool, hot tub, and plenty of lounge space and outdoor games. Restaurants include the upscale 97 West, the hotel’s website said.
How many Texas hotels received Michelin Keys?
Out of 293 hotels selected for the honor, 20 of the properties are found in the Lone Star State.
Michelin highlighted hotels throughout Texas, including gems like the Commodore Perry Estate in Austin and the luxury-chic Hotel Emma in San Antonio.
How did Michelin come up with its list?
Michelin relied on a selection team to decide which hotels would be recognized for outstanding stays.
The team judged hotels on five criteria, according to the Michelin Guide website:
- Excellence in architecture and interior design
- Quality of service
- Overall personality and character
- Price value
- Contribution to the neighborhood or setting
Any hotel in the world is eligible for a Michelin Key. The prestigious guide recommends more than 5,000 hotels across the globe.
