This Fort Worth resident is now Forbes’ richest woman in the world. See her net worth
Earlier this year, Fort Worth resident Alice Walton was regarded as the richest in North Texas. But now she is considered the richest woman in the world.
Alice Walton is worth $89.1 billion fortune, according to Forbes, as the only daughter of late Walmart CEO, Sam Walton. She is an art collector and opened her own museum in 2006, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.
The 74-year-old was also No. 21 on Forbes 2024 billionaire list.
Forbes listed her as the 18th richest person in the world as of Sept. 7. Her brothers boast similar net worth, with No. 14 Jim Walton at $95.5 billion and No. 15 Rob Walton at $94.3 billion.
The Walton family reaps the benefits of the grocer tycoon but has a different hand in the family business. Alice Walton is a chair for the museum she opened and is also opening the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine in 2025.
Jim Walton is the chairman and CEO of Arvest Bank, the oldest bank in Arkansas also owned by the Walton family. Rob Walton took over his father’s position and now serves as the director of Walmart.
Walmart stocks are currently at an all-time high. The U.S. company generates an estimated $657.3 billion a year, according to Forbes.
Previously, the richest woman alive was L’Oreal heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers of France, who is now worth an estimated $88.4 billion.
