The city of Roanoke has announced plans for a 122-acre sports complex at Cleveland Gibbs Road and Texas 114.

The Roanoke Sports Complex will feature five baseball fields, three soccer fields, 1,000 parking spaces, concessions and trails. The fields will support baseball, softball, football and lacrosse, according to a social media post from the city.

The complex will include a hotel, shops and restaurants.

The Play It Forward Foundation, dedicated to engaging students in athletics, is partnering with the city to build to the complex.

Dave Dickson with Play It Forward said the region faces a shortage of athletic fields for youth sports.

“Our mission is to fill this gap by creating a cutting-edge complex that not only supports athletic development but also nurtures teamwork, leadership, and resilience in the next generation of athletes,” he said.
