Motorist killed at Fort Worth intersection


A two vehicle accident at Old Denton Road and Alliance Gateway Freeway Monday afternoon left one person dead, Fort Worth police said.
A two vehicle accident at Old Denton Road and Alliance Gateway Freeway Monday afternoon left one person dead, Fort Worth police said.

Police say a motorist who died in an accident Monday may have driven through a stop sign before colliding with an 18-wheeler.

Police said the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorist was identified as Andrew Yau, 49, of Frisco, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website on Tuesday.

A second person was taken to a local hospital, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said Monday.

The crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. at Old Denton Road and Alliance Gateway Freeway.

The car went through the intersection and was T-boned by the semi-truck, police said.

Police did not release any other details.
