South Fort Worth crash, fight leaves 2 in critical condition minutes after solar eclipse

A multi-vehicle accident and subsequent fight in the Morningside area of south Fort Worth on Monday afternoon left two people in critical condition, officials report.

Police say two vehicles collided near the intersection of East Allen Avenue and New York Avenue around 1:45 p.m., a few minutes after the solar eclipse reached totality.

An “altercation” ensued after the crash, a police spokesperson said. Two people were transported by ambulance in critical condition; another sustained serious injuries, and two others received minor injuries, according to MedStar.

Few other details surrounding the circumstances of the crash are clear. Police are investigating. No arrests have been announced.
