More than 300 new homes planned for this sprawling development in far west Fort Worth
Homebuyers eager to settle in Fort Worth’s western outskirts will soon have 339 new houses in the Walsh development to choose from, the neighborhood announced Tuesday.
The latest addition to the sprawling master-planned community follows two other residential expansions on the property in the past 12 months.
The development in the Aledo school district, situated a roughly 20-minute drive west from downtown along Interstates 20 and 30, has become a hub for suburban growth in the region since its first homes hit the market in 2017.
Named after the oil and ranching family that long owned the land, Walsh expects to house at least 50,000 residents across its 7,200 acres upon completion. The Fort Worth City Council greenlighted the community’s creation in 2000.
The development’s newest homes will range from $400,000 to $1 million. Walsh plans to open a pre-k school on the site later this spring; a fire station will open its doors by year’s end.
