Fort Worth man drowns in backyard pool
A 53-year-old man died in a local hospital Wednesday morning a day after he was found in his backyard pool by a relative, according to authorities.
John Hittle, 53, was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m. Wednesday after a drowning accident, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner.
Police received a call at 2:57 p.m. Tuesday that a man was injured in the 5400 block of Glen Canyon Road in far north Fort Worth, according to a police incident report.
The man was in critical condition when paramedics arrived, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.
The homicide unit is investigating per routine procedure, said Sgt. Steve Enright, a Fort Worth police spokesman. —Monica S. Nagy
