Man dies after shooting in west Fort Worth

A man found wounded late Tuesday in a parking lot in west Fort Worth has died from his injuries, police said.

Anthony Armstead, 35, was pronounced dead at 12:38 a.m. Wednesday at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website. The website did not list a hometown for Armstead, but public records indicate that he had lived in Fort Worth.

A ruling on his death will be made after an autopsy.

Patrol officers responded to a shooting call shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 5700 block of Wellesley Avenue near Horne Street in west Fort Worth.

They found Armstead wounded in the parking lot and he was taken to the Fort Worth hospital where he died.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
