H-E-B is serving up a free, Thanksgiving-worthy dinner in Fort Worth for anyone who wants it.

The grocery chain’s 11th annual Feast of Sharing is Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Dickies Arena. The H-E-B/Central Market mobile kitchen expects to serve up to 10,000 free meals in Fort Worth, before traveling to Dallas for another Feast of Sharing on Saturday at Fair Park, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The “Texas-style” meals will include brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans, rolls, pumpkin pie and apple pie. The location at Dickies Arena is on the lower level, on the southeast side of the arena, at 1911 Montgomery St.

H-E-B expects the event to be the largest of its kind in the Metroplex. Central Market has been working with more than 40 local service agencies, churches and schools. The Fort Worth feast also includes live local music, a family and community service information area, and Kid’s Zone with bounce houses, face painters, cookie decorating, free books and Santa Claus.

Volunteers are required to register before the event.

The H-E-B/Central Market mobile kitchen is able to respond to natural disaster relief efforts with its 53-foot refrigerator trailer. The kitchen can turn out 6,400 meals per hour.
