Fort Worth firefighters rescue man who fell more than 15 feet down storm drain
Firefighters rescued a man who fell into a storm drain Sunday night in far west Fort Worth.
The Fort Worth Fire Department was called to the accident scene on Tolleson Drive about 8:45 p.m., according to a news release.
The man had fallen about 15 to 20 feet down a drain culvert that had been covered with a piece of plywood, the fire department said.
Crews climbed to the bottom of the trench with an extension ladder to provide immediate care for the patient, according to the release. A technical rescue team set up a system to pull the man above ground, where he was treated further before being taken to a hospital.
The patient was stable Monday morning, the fire department said.
