1-year-old boy killed after being run over by car in Fort Worth parking lot, police say

A 1-year-old boy died Tuesday after he was run over by a car in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Fort Worth.

A 1-year-old died Tuesday after being run over by a car in the parking lot of a Fort Worth apartment complex, according to Fort Worth police.

On Tuesday, police were dispatched to the Cook Children’s Emergency Department at 886 6th Ave. in response to a major accident.

Upon arrival, officers met with the mother of the victim, who said that the child was hit by a car in the parking lot at an apartment complex near 3000 Las Vegas Trail.

The driver of the vehicle took the mother and child to the hospital, where medical personnel later pronounced the child dead.

The child was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as Alimu Kangirlio.

According to the medical examiner, Kangirlio died due to blunt force injuries and the office ruled the manner of his death an accident.

Fort Worth traffic investigation detectives are investigating the case.
