A man who was hit by a train in Fort Worth was rescued by firefighters, the Fort Worth Fire Department announced in a social media post Thursday.

Around 5 p.m. Wednesday, fire crews responded to South Beach Street and East Lancaster Avenue where a man had been hit by a train.

Firefighters crossed through “rugged terrain to the railroad tracks” where they found the injured man conscious and breathing, the fire department said in the post.

The victim is being treated at a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, according to the post.
