Texas DMV offices back open after statewide system outage; now processing transactions
Texas Department of Motor Vehicles are back open after a system wide shutdown Friday morning.
The outage affected online and in-person services, including county tax offices and registration renewal locations such as grocery stores and vehicle dealerships.
In a statement, Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector Wendy Burgess said the outage affected all motor vehicle activities and would restrict the office’s ability to provide estimates, search records and process transactions.
According to a tweet Friday afternoon, the tax assessor-collector’s office was back to processing transactions.
