Fiery Fort Worth crash claims second life
A second driver involved in a fiery crash on East Lancaster Avenue Tuesday afternoon died Wednesday, police said.
The woman, who had not been identified by Wednesday night, had to be extricated from the cab of the pickup she was driving after the head-on collision with an SUV in the 7500 block of East Lancaster Avenue.
She was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, officials said.
The SUV caught fire and its driver was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. He also had not been identified by Wednesday night.
A young passenger in the pickup, who was standing outside the vehicle when first responders arrived, was also taken to JPS. Police did not have an update on her condition or her relation to the woman who died.
The wreck occurred about 4:20 p.m. near the Green Oaks Boulevard overpass where East Lancaster turns into West Division Street in Arlington.
The Tarrant County medical examiner will determine the cause of death and release the names of the two killed, police said.
