Free Fort Worth St. Patrick’s Day Parade will have horse-drawn wagons, marching bands

All along Exchange Avenue this weekend, you’ll see horses and horseback riders decked out in green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the Cowtown way.

The Fort Worth Stockyards “Cowtown Goes Green” celebration will take place this Saturday. The family-friendly event will feature armadillo races, lawn games, pony rides, Old West gunfight shows, cloggers, dance troops, live music as well as food and drink.

“We have experienced record attendance at recent events and expect this to be no different,” the website says.

At 4 p.m., an Irish-Western parade will feature riding clubs, horse-drawn wagons, trucks, antique automobiles, military units, marching units and bands, girl scouts and boy scouts.

In addition to the twice daily cattle drive, the Stockyards Championship Rodeo will be at 1:30 p.m. Tickets range from $15 to $55.

Cowtown Goes Green

When: Saturday, March 18, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with rodeo at 1:30 p.m. and parade at 4 p.m.

Where: Fort Worth Stockyards, 131 E. Exchange Avenue

Need to know: Free admission. All ages welcome. Be sure to come dressed in green.

Live Music at ‘Cowtown Goes Green’ in Fort Worth

Live music will be playing throughout the day on Livestock Exchange Lawn.
