Teen mom in fatal Fort Worth crash identified
A teenage mother killed Sunday night in a wreck on Jacksboro Highway has been identified as Sarah Fortenberry.
The 15-year-old died of “multiple traumatic injuries” from a multiple vehicle collision, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner. Her town of residence was not reported.
Fortenberry was a passenger in a Honda that ran a red light at the intersection of Nine Mile Bridge Road and Jacksboro Highway and was struck by a pickup pulling a trailer, said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman.
The Honda was pushed into a Chevy Avalanche, she said.
Fortenberry was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:35 p.m., according to the medical examiner.
Her baby was taken to a hospital in good condition, Knight said.
The Honda’s driver, 18 and the child’s father, was treated for minor injuries, Knight said.
No one was arrested, she said.
