Teen mom killed in Fort Worth crash
A 15-year-old mom was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash on Jacksboro Highway at Nine Mile Bridge Road, authorities said.
The accident occurred at 7:20 p.m. at the border between Azle and Fort Worth when a Honda traveling through an intersection was hit by a pickup truck pulling a trailer, said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman.
The Honda was struck on the passenger side and then pushed into an SUV, Knight wrote in an email. A 15-year old girl was pronounced dead at the scene, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.
The girl’s baby was in the car and was taken to the hospital in good condition, police said. The Honda’s driver, an 18-year-old, and the child’s father was treated for minor injuries, Knight said.
“No significant injuries reported to the driver of the Avalanche,” Knight wrote.
No one was arrested Sunday night, but police are investigating.
The girl who died will be identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner once family has been notified.
