Man shot to death in Fort Worth liquor store parking lot
A 26-year-old man died early Sunday after he was shot at a liquor store that was also an after-hours nightclub.
Authorities did not identify the victim, who was pronounced dead at 4:21 a.m. at John Peter Smith Hospital, shortly after he arrived.
Patrol officers responded to the shooting call at about 3:50 a.m. Sunday at 5203 McCart Ave. in the parking lot of Liquorville.
A fight between two women broke out inside Liquorville, and security asked everyone to leave, said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman.
Witnesses told police that the fight continued in the parking lot.
At some point, the assailant drove by the crowd and fired several shots, hitting three people and fatally injuring the 26-year-old, police said.
The vehicle fled north on McCart Ave., Knight wrote in an email.
Police found the 26-year-old inside the building with “at least one apparent gunshot wound” to his upper torso, Knight said.
Two other men were taken to JPS in serious condition, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.
Their condition was not known Sunday night.
No arrests had been made Sunday night.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
