Robber shoots man in Fort Worth, pedals away
Police are searching for a cyclist who robbed two men early Thursday, shooting one of them and leaving him in critical condition.
Police were dispatched to the Cinnamon Tree Apartments at 6100 Westcreek Drive in southwest Fort Worth at about 3:50 a.m.
A 31-year-old man had just parked and was walking to his apartment when the assailant approached and shot him in the upper body, police spokeswoman Tamara Pena said.
“The assailant then took the victim’s wallet out of the victim’s pants pocket and rode away on a bicycle,” Pena said in an email.
Police believe the same robber approached a second man at the complex, showed his gun and took the victim’s wallet. The assailant then rode away on his bike.
The first victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital and was in critical condition, Pena said. A full description of the suspect was not available.
