A 23-year-old driver died Monday afternoon from injuries after his vehicle hit a light pole near Martin Luther King Freeway in Fort Worth, authorities said.

The driver was identified as Felipe Trejo, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website on Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at 1:11 p.m. Monday at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police responded to the major accident just before 12:30 p.m. Monday near Martin Luther King Freeway and East Vickery Boulevard.

Police determined that Trejo lost control of his car and hit a light pole. He was the only one in the car.
