Fort Worth Fire Dept. invites public to watch funeral procession for longtime firefighter

The Fort Worth Fire Department is inviting members of the public to line the funeral procession route for 29-year veteran firefighter David Greene on Wednesday. Greene died Sept. 19 after a battle with occupational brain cancer.

The Fort Worth Fire Department is inviting members of the public to line the funeral procession route for longtime firefighter David Greene on Wednesday morning, the department announced in a news release Monday.

The procession will begin at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday at Amber Ridge Drive and Chapel Creek Boulevard in Fort Worth. The funeral, which is being held as a full line-of-duty death memorial, begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Doxology Bible Church, 4805 Arborlawn Drive.

The memorial service also is open to the public.

Greene died Sept. 19 after a battle with occupational brain cancer. The 56-year-old had been with the department for 29 years.
