Fort Worth’s Kelly Clarkson honored with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Fort Worth’s own Kelly Clarkson has been a star for two decades, but now she has cemented her place in Hollywood history.
Clarkson, 40, was born in Fort Worth and started in elementary school before her family moved to Burleson where she attended junior high and high school. Being crowned the first “American Idol” winner 20 years ago changed her life.
On Monday, Clarkson was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. The historic Hollywood landmark has a collection of nearly 3,000 stars honoring celebrities.
“Here’s to the next 20 years!! by the way, my star is between Harry Potter and Deadpool ….I dare anyone to top that!,” Clarkson posted to her Instagram Monday.
Clarkson was joined at the ceremony by original “American Idol” judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul, who crowned her champion just over 20 years ago on Sept. 4, 2002.
In the years since Clarkson won “American Idol,” she’s released nine albums with her most recent affair arriving in the form of 2021’s holiday album, “When Christmas Comes Around ... .” Clarkson was also a coach on singing competition show “The Voice” for eight seasons from 2018 to 2021, winning four titles during her tenure.
Now, the “Stronger” singer hosts her own talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” which began in 2019 and is currently in its fourth season on NBC.
