Police are investigating an accident in which one person was killed early Sunday in Fort Worth.

At about 2 a.m., Fort Worth police officers were called to a single-vehicle accident at Interstate 35W and Allen Avenue, spokesperson Leonard Elgin said.

Officers determined that the driver of the vehicle had tried to exit the highway, hit a concrete barrier and drove into a concrete pillar.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives have been notified, Elgin said.

The driver will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
